Pawan Khera attacks Smriti Irani: Union Minister Smriti Irani and her daughter Joish are on target of the opposition these days. Congress has made very serious allegations against Smriti Irani and demanded the resignation of Smriti Irani. Her daughter is facing allegations that a bar in North Goa’s Asagaon run by Union minister daughter Zoish Irani has been wrongly accused of renewing a liquor license in the name of a person who died a long time ago. Congress leaders are alleging that the license has been given in a fake manner and it should be investigated.
Significantly, senior Congress leader Pawan Khera said in this matter, “Surprisingly, the children of your supporters fight for Namaz and Hanuman Chalisa and your children either study abroad or do such illegal acts with the help of your ‘blessings'” He further said, “The preparation for the transfer of the Excise Commissioner, who gave notice to this illegal restaurant/bar, has been started. Is this happening without the intervention of Smriti Irani? Was this license granted without her influence?”
On this issue, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said in a press conference that our demand is that Prime Minister Modi should immediately take the resignation of Smriti Irani. Smriti Irani is not only accused, but there are entire documents, which have been extracted through RTI. Smriti Irani’s daughter has serious allegations of possessing a fake license and it has been done illegally.
Without naming Smriti Irani, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday said it is best to issue a clarification in such a case where documentary evidence is available, instead of denying the ownership. “If the drinking license for the Goa bar/restaurant/ fine dining acquired was on the basis of a signature of a dead man, revealed via RTI, best to issue a clarification & course correction rather than a denial of ownership when there is ample evidence showing otherwise,” Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted.
