Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who is often in discussion about his controversial statements, has once again given a controversial statement. At an event on Friday, Ramdev said that women look good without wearing anything.
Ramdev’s latest comment on women’s dress has sparked outrage in political and social circles. Addressing a free yoga training program on Friday, Ramdev said, “Women look good in sarees, they look good in salwar suits and I think they would look good even if they don’t wear anything.”
Balasahebchi Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son and Bharatiya Janata Party’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta Fadnavis and other prominent personalities were present on the dais when Baba Ramdev was making this statement.
Baba Ramdev, aged 56, was addressing the Yoga Science Camp and Women’s Conference organized by Patanjali Yoga Peetha and Mumbai Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti. He interacted with women who had brought their yoga clothes and sarees to the conclave and attended training camps organized by Ramdev.
The meeting began shortly after training camp, so many of the women didn’t have time to change clothes. Noticing this, Ramdev said that if they didn’t have time to change clothes then there was no problem and they could do it after going home, following which he made the controversial remark, which has sparked protests everywhere. He also urged people to be happy and smiling like Amruta Fadnavis to live a long life.
