Lead researcher Sylvia Alemani of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health said that the same data has come out in our research. This team tested 9 studies related to about 1 lakh 50 thousand mothers and children. After which researchers claim that taking Paracetamol, also known as Astaminophen, disturbs the balance of hormones present in the uterus.
One study found that mothers who took paracetamol just to relieve pain, without fever, had a 3-point decrease in the IQ of their 5-year-old children. In another study, a relationship was also found between paracetamol intake and children’s late speaking.
Smoking cigarettes during pregnancy also has a bad effect on the health of the mother and the baby. These results discovered by the researchers, published in the Journal of Hormones and Behavior, said that long-term use of paracetamol during pregnancy, that is, the risk of disease in the child is higher.
