Akshay Kumar quits Vimal Elaichi: Akshay Kumar has announced that he will no longer be the brand ambassador of a tobacco brand he had recently signed up for. The actor made the announcement through his social mdia Post midnight on Thursday.
Akshay Kumar announced that he would no longer be associated with Vimal Elaichi. The Bollywood star issued the statement through Twitter.

Taking to his Instagram handle, he wrote, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi”.
He also added, “With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes. Akshay Kumar.”
A few days ago, fans got to know that Akshay Kumar was and will be endorsing Vimal Elaichi brand after the likes of Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan. The first commerical aired as well and it went viral. Netizens trolled Kumar for his decision to join Vimal promos. Social media users also shared old videos of Kumar in which he was speaking against consuming alcohol and tobacco products.
