Why this sudden change in tone of Vivek Agnihotri for Javed Akhtar? Praises him saying ‘Educated, Intelligent, Tied with Indian roots’

After the success of the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, film director Vivek Agnihotri often remains in the headlines for one reason or the other. Often on social media, he is seen giving his opinion on every issue. He is also adept at taunting other actors in the industry. However, now suddenly Vivek Agnihotri’s tone has changed. Recently, he was seen extolling for Javed Akhtar.

Recently, during a media interaction, Vivek Agnihotri openly praised Javed Akhtar for writing songs in pure Hindi. He said that Javed Akhtar wrote songs in pure Hindi for Aamir Khan starrer film ‘Lagaan’. He further added, “Even a person like Javed Akhtar who wrote the bhajans for ‘Lagaan’ was in pure Hindi. Talking about Javed Akhtar, Vivek Agnihotri further said, “He may be a communist, fight against the right wing, but it doesn’t matter.” During the conversation, Vivek Agnihotri also praised the film characters that Javed Akhtar created in the eighties-nineties. Vivek Agnihotri said that Javed Akhtar’s hero was either the son of a laborer or a teacher and he used to fight for his rights with a dacoit, mill owner, landlord or a corrupt police inspector-MLA. But in today’s era, where is all this to be seen?

Vivek Agnihotri heaped praises on Javed Akhtar, but he did not miss out on hitting out at Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’. He said, “Does he even know the meaning of the word ‘Brahmastra’? And then he talks about the Astra Versa, what is that too? Then you send your director to promote this film, who can’t even pronounce the word ‘Brahmastra’ properly.” Vivek did not stop here, he also took a jibe at Karan Johar. He said, “he talks about the LGBTQ community, but he himself makes fun of them.”
