Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Alang is saying in his speech that he had gone to Agra to see the Taj Mahal in 1999. He said, “At that time I was in a queue with the common men. When I reached the counter after a long time, two men took me to another queue. At that time, $20 was used to be charged for entry. I did not even see so much money at that time or rather did not even know. Then I had to convince them a lot that I am Hindustani and I am from Nagaland.”

Taking forward the matter of Taj Mahal, he said, “I told the people that I am from Nagaland, then someone also asked which land…Switzerland or Finland…where from which land…I still remember that day. And I remember this day too. This is because a lot of work is being done for the tribals. A lot of work is being done, especially in the Northeast. It is a matter of pride not only for the Northeast but also for the tribes.”

Let us tell you that 41-year-old Temjen Imna Alang is also the state president of Nagaland BJP. He was elected from Along Taki constituency in the 2018 assembly elections. He is the Minister of Higher and Technical Education in the government since 2018, but he also speaks Hindi very well.
