The song “Naatu Naatu” from the Telugu film RRR received an Oscar nomination in the Best Song category. The song had previously won the prestigious Golden Globe award. Lyrics of the song was written by Chandrabose and his wife Suchitra compared the Oscar nomination to winning the World Cup. However, amidst the celebrations, many Twitter users wondered about the status of the controversial film “The Kashmir Files” and its director Vivek Agnihotri, some even tagged him in their tweets.

One of the users took a dig and wrote, “The Kashmir Files leads Oscar Nominations race with nods across whopping 15 categories including Best Picture and Best Direction. Truly iconic!” Another tweeted, “Where is Kashmir files? The director already congratulated himself for getting shortlisted for Oscar!”

“I just checked the oscars nominations for 2023, couldn’t find this propaganda film which they claimed was nominated for oscars”, a user tweeted.

One Twitter user made a sarcastic comment, suggesting that if there was a category for “best propaganda film” at the Oscars, The Kashmir Files would win it.

It is worth noting that, in addition to RRR, the films “All That Breathes” and “The Elephant Whisperers” have also been shortlisted for the Best Documentary and Best Documentary Short categories.
