Colombian pop star singer Shakira and her partner Spanish football legend Gerard Pique have parted ways. Their 12-year relationship has come to an end. On Saturday, the two officially parted ways. 45-year-old Shakira is a well-known name in the global music industry. His popular songs are ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ and ‘Waka-Waka’.
Both said in a joint statement, “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
Actually, Shakira has accused Pique of being in a relationship with another woman and cheating on her. According to media reports, Pique is in an affair with another woman. After this the couple had decided to separate.
Shakira and Pique were considered one of the most loved couples in Hollywood. The two had been in a relationship since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Then both of them were also seen together in the theme song ‘Waka-Waka’ of the Football World Cup.
Apart from Spain, 35-year-old Pique also plays for the legendary club Barcelona. Pique won the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship while playing for Spain. Apart from this, he has also won the Champions League title three times with club Barcelona.
Pique and Shakira did not marry and there is also a difference of 10 years between their ages. Pique is 10 years younger than Shakira. They also have two children (Shasha Pique Mebarak and Milan Pique Mebarak).
Pique is currently living alone in Barcelona’s Cal Muntaner, away from Shakira.
