‘Vote to BJP…we will provide liquor for just Rs 70’: Andhra Pradesh BJP president Somu Veerraju

Elections are nowhere near in Andhra Pradesh yet, but the statement of the BJP state president linked to the election has become a topic of discussion. Here BJP state president Somu Veerraju said that if the BJP government is formed, people will be provided liquor for Rs 70.

Let us tell you that on Tuesday, BJP held a public meeting in Vijayawada city. Former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar and party general secretary Sunil Deodhar were also involved in this.

In the program, Veerraju said, “Cast one crore votes to Bharatiya Janata Party and we will provide liquor for just ₹70. If we have more revenue left, then, will provide liquor for just ₹50.”

Veerraju alleged that substandard quality liquor was sold in the state and it was done in connivance with the ruling party leaders.

Let us inform you that recently the YSRCP government had also reduced the prices of liquor to attract people. In this the additional duties were reduced. Due to this, the price of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was reduced by 15-20 percent in the state.

Earlier, in order to reduce the consumption of alcohol in the Andhra Pradesh government, the prices of liquor were increased by 75 percent. This was done when the restrictions were lifted after the lockdown.
