Sources told the Times of India, “The 32-year-old Virat Kohli, who currently captains all three formats of India and is India’s most successful captain till date, has decided to share the captaincy responsibilities with Rohit Sharma. . According to the newspaper report, Virat Kohli has had lengthy talks with Rohit and the team management over the issue over the past few months.

These sources say that due to the pressure of captaincy in all three formats, it has had a big impact on Virat Kohli’s batting. On the other hand, Kohli also believes that his batting needs more time and more speed. According to sources, Virat himself will decide to step down from the captaincy, he is aware of the need to focus on his batting, due to which he is called the best batsman in the world. In the coming years 2022 and 2023, India has to play two World Cups, due to which Virat’s batting is being considered important.

The sources further said while talking to the newspaper, Virat Kohli also feels that he has responsibilities as a captain in all formats which are affecting his batting, for this he needs to refresh himself as he has a team. According to sources, if Rohit Sharma takes over the captaincy of ODI and T20 then Virat can continue his captaincy in Tests, Virat is 32 years old now and he can play international cricket for next 5-6 years.

Virat Kohli was made the Test captain in the year 2014. At that time the Indian team was on a tour of Australia and Mahendra Singh Dhoni suddenly announced his retirement from Test, after which Virat was made the captain of the team. After this MS Dhoni resigned from the captaincy from all forms of cricket in 2017 when Kohli became the captain of all three formats. Virat has been very successful as a captain, he captained India in 65 Test matches, winning 38 matches. Apart from this, while captaining in 95 ODIs, Virat led India to victory in 65 matches. At the same time, in 45 T20 International matches, he has won 29 matches for India under his captaincy.
