A 35-year-old man was beaten badly on the road by two police constables on Tuesday in the Pardeshipura area in Madhya Pradesh after a dispute over allegedly not wearing mask to protect him from the corona virus. Both police personnel have been suspended after the video of the incident went viral.
In the video, two policemen are seen beating a person mercilessly, while his teenage son and some women are seen begging for mercy from the policemen. Superintendent of Police (Eastern Region) Ashutosh Bagri said that the two constables appearing in the video have been suspended due to improper treatment and a City Superintendent of Police (CSP) has been entrusted with the investigation of the case.
Bagree claimed that the person appearing in the video was not wearing a mask and the two policemen stopped him, so he grabbed his collar and abused him and tried to assault him.
