UK PM Boris Johnson pulls out as Republic Day chief guest

United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Boris Johnson canceled his visit to India on Tuesday. Boris Johnson was the Chief Guest on Republic Day this year. He said that he would not be able to go because of monitoring the condition of Coronavirus in Britain.

A Downing Street spokeswoman said, “The PM spoke to the Prime Minister of India this morning and told that he would be unable to visit India.”

Boris Johnson has canceled a tour of India at a time when coronavirus infection in the UK is increasing. The lockdown has been announced due to the arrival of new strains of coronavirus there.

Lockdown for the third time in England

How much Britain (Britain) is suffering from the new strain of Coronavirus can be gauged from the fact that the lockdown has been imposed in England for the third time since the epidemic started. On Monday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced another lockdown in England due to the corona virus.

A six-week lockdown has been imposed this time for England’s 56 million people, including the closure of schools. However, the new lockdown allows only those who are difficult to work from home. In his address, Prime Minister Boris Johnson appealed to the people to move out of their homes for unnecessary and non-urgent work, only for those who are exempted from lockdown.

The lockdown has been implemented in England from 12 am on Tuesday morning. Apart from this, the people of Britain have also been allowed to go out once a day to buy essential things like food and medicines. At the same time, about closing school and college, Johnson said that the children were not safe from the new strain of Corona. Therefore, it has been decided to close the schools as well.

According to official data, 58,784 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the UK on Monday, the largest ever single day figure. A total of 27,21,622 cases and 75,547 deaths have been reported in the country so far.
