Britain’s health minister Matt Hancock resigned on Saturday amid mounting calls for him to step down over his admitted breach of COVID-19 lockdown rules with a kiss involving a close female aide. The picture of Hancock ‘kissing’ his colleague is now becoming very viral on social media.
In a letter to British Prime Minister Johnson, Hancock said that the government is indebted to those who have lost so much in this pandemic. Along with this, the minister again apologized for violating the government rules of following social distance while being out of the house.
In a video shared on Twitter, Hancock said, “I went to hand over my resignation as health minister to the prime minister.” He said, “I can understand that everyone in this country has lost a lot and the rules that people like us make should be followed that’s why I resigned.”
Earlier, the 42-year-old Conservative leader was seen kissing MP Gina Coldangalo (43) in her office in a CCTV camera image. Coladanglo is a longtime friend and colleague of Hancock. The matter gained so much momentum that the Boris Johnson government came on the backfoot and Matt Hancock had to resign from his post.
The British newspaper ‘The Sun’ published photographs of Matt Hancock and his colleague Gina Coladogello. Hancock was hugging Gina in his office. After these pictures surfaced, Hancock had given an explanation and also apologized for his mistake. But, now Hancock had to resign from his post.
