Controversy over the issue of inviting news channel Zee News anchor Sudhir Chowdhury to an event in Abu Dhabi deepened on Wednesday when UAE Princess Hend bint Faisal Al Qasim publicly shamed CA Neeraj Ritolia who was responsible for inviting Zee News anchors to the Islamic kingdom.
Sharing a picture of CA Retolia on Twitter, the UAE princess wrote angrily, “I just spoke to the President of the Abu Dhabi Chartered Accountants and he told me that #Islamophobe Sudhir Chaudhry is still attending. He refuses to disinvite him. Good to know how much he respects the country of tolerance.”
In another tweet, she shamed Ritolia to invite him “despite the 30 members asking for the removal of a criminal #SudhirChaudhry with financial misconduct and a notorious name against Muslims he is STILL INVITED BY THE PRESIDENT #NirajRitola AND VP OF THE @icaiauh International Chartered Accountants of Abu Dhabi. SHAME ON YOU!!!”.
Princess Hend’s ‘Country of Tolerance’ reference was to the UAE, which marked 2019 as the Year of Tolerance to celebrate ‘coexistence, tolerance and dialogue’. Launching the initiative, the UAE government said, “The UAE is officially celebrating the values and meaning of tolerance in 2019, to promote tolerance and a nurturing environment for diverse cultural backgrounds to live and work peacefully in the country. To establish its position as a global capital.”
The Princess Hand last week asked the organizers of the Abu Dhabi chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to explain why they decided to invite Chaudhary as a speaker to her country. Addressing the Zee News anchor as a ‘terrorist’, the UAE princess had reminded the organizers of how the controversial TV anchor is regularly defaming Islam and its followers.
As soon as Princess Hend shared Ritolia’s photo, Twitter users began demanding his deportation from the UAE for indulging in Islamophobia. Users want Indian CA to be deported.
