Twitter withholds multiple accounts of Journalists, activists including The Caravan, actor Sushant Singh

Micro-blogging website Twitter has banned many Twitter accounts in India. The Twitter account withheld includes the accounts of Prasar Bharti’s CEO, Caravan Magazine, Kisan Ekta Morcha, actor Sushant Singh and many others. Twitter has stated the legal demand behind holding the account. By the way, this picture is not clear yet what the legal demand is. However, Prasar Bharati has complained to Twitter about holding the account.

Regarding the holding of the Twitter account, it is believed that this has been done on the demand of the investigating agencies.

The account held includes the Kisan Ekta Morcha, a collective Twitter account of farmer leaders. Apart from this, the account of The Caravan magazine, former Rajya Sabha MP of CPI (M) Mohammad Salim, political activist Mohammad Asif Khan, Sanjukta Basu, Hansraj Meena, Aam Aadmi Party leader Aarti and actor Sushant Singh were also held on Twitter.

On opening the profiles of all these, it is written that in response to a legal demand, this account has been withheld in India.

However, when journalist Aditya Raj Kaul asked Twitter about holding the account of Prasar Bharati CEO, Twitter replied that we cannot comment on anyone’s personal account.
