Twitter tags BJP IT Cell Head, Amit Malviya’s tweet as ‘manipulated media’

Twitter has objected to a tweet by BJP leader and party’s IT cell chief Amit Malviya, calling it a “manipulation of the media” by BJP leader Amit Malviya on a tweet against the farmer protest.

Twitter has red-flagged the post tweeted about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Generally, Twitter posts that are “important and cleverly altered and fabricated or shared incorrectly or are likely to pose a threat to the safety of the general public or intended to harm someone” are removed by twitter from its platform.

According to Twitter, the BJP leader tweeted this with the intention to “discredit Rahul Gandhi”. Rahul Gandhi tweeted a picture in which the police was beating an elderly farmer leader with a stick. It was captioned “this is a very sad picture. Our slogan was ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ but today PM Modi’s arrogance which has made jawan to fight against the farmer. it’s very dangerous.”

In response to his tweet, Amit Malviya shared a video clip which showed that the police stick was not touching the farmer. Shortly after his tweet, several fact checking websites reported that it was a clipped video.

However, after the Twitter’s action against Amit Malviya, many people started trolling Amit Malviya. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut wrote @ RautSanjay61 “Bhakt: Congratulations, Amit Malviya ji, for the first time in India, Twitter has given your tweet the status of” Manipulated Media “.

A user named Amar @ amar4media wrote “Sanjay Bhai is full cash back.” Similarly, many others have also commented.
