“Those tweeting ‘Godse zindabad’ are irresponsibly shaming the nation”: BJP MP Varun Gandhi lashes out at people glorifying Godse

The whole country is celebrating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on this day. On the one hand, crores of people are remembering Bapu and paying homage to him, while on the other hand there are some elements in the society who are not deterred from spoiling the atmosphere due to their antics on this day.

People across the country are remembering Mahatma Gandhi by tweeting and posting on social media, while today some people have also tweeted against it, due to which ‘#nathuram-godse-zindabad’ is trending on Twitter. Many leaders including BJP MP Varun Gandhi have opposed it and called it shameful.

Varun Gandhi was furious at those who cheered Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi. He strongly condemned the act when “Nathuram Godse Zindabad” trended on Twitter. Bharatiya Janata Party MP Varun Gandhi on Saturday criticized those glorifying his assassin Nathuram Godse on the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Varun Gandhi said that such people are embarrassing the country.

Varun Gandhi tweeted, ‘India has always been a spiritual superpower,but it is the Mahatma who articulated our nation’s spiritual underpinnings through his being & gave us a moral authority that remains our greatest strength even today.Those tweeting ‘Godse zindabad’ are irresponsibly shaming the nation.”

The day of October 2 is very important for India. Mahatma Gandhi was born on this day in 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. 2 October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti every year. Nathuram Godse Zindabad is trending on Twitter on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. More than 61 thousand people have tweeted on this. These people are tweeting in support of Nathuram Godse. However, many people on social media also criticized this trend.
