Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Friday (27 August) clashed with anchor Rubika Liyaquat during a debate on Hindi news channel ABP News, whose video is now becoming very viral on social media. During the program, the anchor asked the farmer leader to tell that where it is written in the law that the land of the farmers will be taken back. If this happens, I will sit with you and protest. On this Rakesh Tikait told the anchor that you tell me on which post the government has made you sit?
Actually, the host Rubika Liyaquat was questioning from the summit of ABP News held in Lucknow, while the farmer leader was answering through online medium. He was in some other city, to which Rubika taunted “Had he (Tikait) been face to face, the crop would have been harvested well.” However, the farmer leader replied “I am seeing all the people who are there. I feel that I’m sitting there where the program is taking place”.
Rakesh Tikait says that it was a farmers’ movement, is a farmer’s movement and will remain a farmer’s movement. During the program, the anchor asked “you tell where it is written in the law that the land of the farmers will be taken back. If this happens, I will sit with you and protest.” On this Tikait replied, “on which post are you in the government?”
Let us tell you that Rakesh Tikait had threatened farmers’ agitation in Lucknow last month. After this, UP BJP launched several attacks on Tikait. The party had tweeted a cartoon in which no one’s name was written. However, the language used in it raised questions on the Yogi government.
