Taapsee Pannu is busy promoting her upcoming film Haseen Dilruba. During this, she openly sported Kareena Kapoor in response to a question. Kareena was recently trolled for after it was reported that she has demanded ₹12 crore to play Sita in the mythological film. Now Taapsee has shut down the trolls and has asked them a question.
She told Bollywood Bubble in an interview, “If it would have been a man in that position, who would have asked for a particular amount, it would have been looked upon like, ‘iski market badh gayi hai (his worth has improved)’. Like that guy has really achieved big success in life. But because a woman is asking for it, she’s called ‘difficult’, ‘too demanding’. It’s always like that.”
Taapsee further said that you always read about the problem of increasing the salary of women, but why should this happen? Kareena is one of the biggest female superstars we have in the country. If she commands a certain salary for her time, it’s her job. Do you think any other mythological characters that are played by men, do you think they do it for free? I don’t think so.
Actually, this news was getting viral on social media that Kareena Kapoor has increased her fees for the role of Sita to 12 crores. It is being said that Ramayana will be shown from Sita’s point of view in this film. After which people started demanding to ban Kareena on Twitter. However, the filmmakers denied these reports. And it was clearly said that no such role was ever offered to Kareena.
On the other hand, if we talk about Taapsee Pannu, then the actress is in news these days about her mess with Kangana Ranaut. When Taapsee called Kangana irrelevant, in response, Kangana said that Taapsee asks the producer for her abandoned roles.
