Amidst the outcry caused by the Corona pandemic and inflation across the country, a senior BJP leader and three-time minister in the Chhattisgarh government, MLA Brijmohan Agarwal has given an absurd statement about rising inflation. Brijmohan Agrawal has said that those who are finding inflation as a calamity, should stop eating and drinking and also stop filling petrol and diesel.
Talking to reporters on Thursday, Agrawal said, “If the inflation is a national calamity, then I think those who are calling it so should stop eating and drinking. They should quit food and stop using petrol.”
Not only this, targeting the Congress, Brijmohan Agrawal said that if more Congressmen who vote for Congress do this, then inflation will come down. On Brijmohan’s statement, slamming him over the statement, Chhattisgarh Congress”s communication wing in-charge Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said the BJP can”t even realise the pain of people who are bearing the brunt of the price rise.
“Making such a vague statement is very shameful. They will later say that those who oppose the Centre should quit India,” he said. Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said, “This statement of Brijmohan Agrawal is the culmination of shamelessness.
In fact, earlier Congress state president Mohan Markam had targeted the Narendra Modi government on the completion of seven years. Mohan Markam had said, “Inflation has more than doubled in the last 7 years. This is a national disaster. People’s income is affected due to Corona, due to this the problems have increased.
