Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly gave shocking news on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He made two tweets. In the first tweet made at 2:8 pm, he wrote, ‘Success is not a destination but a journey that begins, stay tuned to know more. After this another tweet was done at 5:20 pm.
In this he wrote, “2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today.”
He further wrote, “Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope yu continue your support as I enter this chapter if my life.”
This message from Sourav Ganguly gave rise to speculations on social media. Many wondered whether he was joining the mainstream of Indian politics. Some wondered whether he was being nominated to the upper house of the Parliament, the Rajya Sabha. Some people talked about his joining BJP and supported him to join politics.
Even before the West Bengal assembly elections, there was speculation about former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly joining politics.
