BJP MP from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur is often in the discussion due to her statements. Once again she has given an irresponsible statement. Now she is seen embroiled in controversies regarding her statement on lottery and betting. She said that betting and lottery is not always bad. Many types of lotteries also benefit people.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, she said that the society can benefit by legally recognizing it and allowing it to start. She said that in the time of Corona pandemic when the country’s economy is derailed, legalizing betting and lottery will help in reviving the economy.
When asked about the decision of Shivraj government related to this, she said that I am with the decision of the government. The policies of the government should be such, which benefits the society. Let us inform that the Madhya Pradesh government had issued a gazette notification on August 23, in which betting and lottery have been allowed. This exemption is given under the Lotteries (Regulation) Act 1998 (17 of 1998) and under the Public Gambling Act 1867 (3 of 1867).
However, politics has also started regarding this decision of the government. Congress condemned it. After the release of the notification, the Congress had said that the BJP’s Shivraj government talks about innovation, but to increase revenue, the government has issued a notification for gambling and betting. Now it has to be seen how this government will protect moral values. The party spokesperson had tweeted saying that new culture, innovation, party with difference, salute to Hedgewar Savarkar, Golwalkar and Deendayal all together, MP has become self-reliant.
