Shooter Abhinav Bindra shuts down wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt for defending Kumbh Mela

India’s veteran shooter and Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra has pulled up former wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt on a tweet about the Kumbh Mela. Olympic bronze medalist Yogeshwar supported the pilgrims attending and participating in the Kumbh Mela amidst the corona virus. On this, Bindra slammed Dutt. Yogeshwar Dutt, who joined the BJP from Pahlavani to politics, indirectly referenced the Tabligi Jamaat program of March 2020, tweeting, ‘No one is going to the Kumbh Mela illegally, people are following all protocols, Nobody is spitting on security and medical staff, no one is running away from administration.

Yogeshwar Dutt tweeted this on 14 April. Right now the cases of corona in the country are increasing rapidly. In such a situation, many people raised questions about the Kumbh event. They accused the government of adopting a double stance, citing the example of last year’s Tablighi Jamaat program. Yogeshwar Dutt was defending the Kumbh Mela on this issue. Abhinav Bindra tweeted on this and criticized Yogeshwar’s behavior.

Abhinav Bindra further tweeted another. In this, he raised questions on the time of organizing Kumbh Mela. He said,

When the infectious global pandemic is spreading and causing havoc in India, should the Kumbh Mela have been held? The virus does not discriminate between religions.

People who have gone to Kumbh are being tested corona positive
