Beijing Airport: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid the foundation stone of Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) in UP. After this many BJP leaders started sharing photos and videos regarding Jewar Airport. As soon as the photo of Jewar Airport went viral, the truth of this photo also came to the fore.
BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also shared a photo from his Twitter account referring to Noida International Airport. However, many have claimed that the photos shared by BJP leaders are from Daxin International Airport(Beijing Airport) in Beijing, China.
Now these BJP leaders and ministers have been called out by a mediaperson from China’s state-run Global Television Network (CGTN) for passing off images of the Beijing Daxing International Airport as the model for the upcoming Jewar airport in Noida.
Shen Shiwei, an official of China’s state-run global television network, tweeted a collage of photos shared by BJP leaders and ministers as the model of Jewar Airport. Shiwei shared the collage and wrote, “Errr….Shocked to know that Indian government officials had to use photographs of China Beijing Daxing International Airport as proof of their “achievements of infrastructure”.
Shiwei also posted an article that said the images were of Beijing airport, not the future design of the Jewar airport. “Indian government’s fake news propaganda debunked”, he said.
Actually, the tweet was that ‘PM will inaugurate this airport being built at a cost of 35,000 crores today’. Almost all the ministers immediately copy-pasted this text and photo and put it on the wall of their social media platform. But they had no idea that the picture was not of the model of Noida airport but of Beijing airport of neighboring China.
After this tweet of Shiwei, Trinamool Congress leader and former cricketer Kirti Azad has targeted the BJP and the central government for shaming India globally. Kirti Azad tweeted, ” ‘What a shame’. We know how little knowledge and common sense these ministers have but even @MyGovHindi also tweeting? Uff.. The China fetishisation”.
