Financial-technology company BharatPe’s co-founder and managing director and reality show Shark Tank India fame Ashneer Grover has finally resigned from the board after fighting an intense legal battle with the board of directors. He alleged that I was forced to say goodbye to the company.
In an email sent to the board of the fintech unicorn, Ashneer Grover said he was “slandered” and treated in the “most degrading manner”. He wrote in the mail, ‘I am deeply saddened that today I am being forced to say goodbye to the company I founded.”
Ashneer alleges, “since the beginning of 2022, people are making baseless allegations against me and my family. This has not only hurt my reputation, but the reputation of the company has also been tarnished. Whom they claim to save.”
Let us tell you that Ashneer Grover’s resignation comes at a time when his wife Madhuri Jain Grover was sacked from the company by BharatPe on charges of financial irregularities. Madhuri is accused of using company funds to buy personal beauty treatments, electronic items and family trips to the US and Dubai.
Significantly, Ashneer Grover had recently suffered a major setback. Ashneer had to face defeat in a petition filed against him in Singapore to initiate an investigation.
