Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Friday issued an extraordinary statement amid media reports claiming that Mukesh Ambani, India’s largest businessman and owner of Reliance Industries, is leaving India with wife Nita Ambani and his family and settling in London. The company termed reports of the Ambani family making the 300-acre Country Club in Buckinghamshire’s Stoke Park area their main home as “false and baseless speculation”.
In its statement, RIL said, “A recent report in a newspaper has led to unwarranted and baseless speculations on social media. In this, the Ambani family is being told about the plan to partially live in Stroke Park in London. Reliance Industries Limited would like to clarify that the Chairman and his family have no plans to settle or reside in London or anywhere else in the world.”
The Mukesh Ambani-owned company further said in the statement that in addition to this, RIL Group company RIIHL has recently acquired Stoke Park Estate. The company would like to clarify that the objective of acquisition of the property is to enhance it as an excellent golfing and sporting resort, fully compliant with the guidelines and local regulations. This acquisition will add to the fast growing consumer business of the group. It will also expand the footprint of India’s renowned hospitality industry globally.
However, the company in its statement did not comment on Ambani’s frequent foreign trips, which have been mentioned in the news.
Media reports claimed that Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family may split their time between London and Mumbai in future. The Ambani family is building a luxurious house on 300 acres of land located in Stoke Park, Buckinghamshire in London. Mukesh Ambani’s new house also has 49 bedrooms and a mini hospital. According to the report, Ambani has bought this land for Rs 592 crore.
Significantly, Ambani and his family’s foreign travel is being linked to making Stoke Park Estate their second home after Reliance bought this property in London for Rs 592 crore. He lives in a house of 4,00,000 square feet in Mumbai. His house is located on Altamount Road in the city of Antilia.
