Rajat Sharma slammed by Netizens for spreading fake news of Ramdev’s Coronil gets WHO approval

Rajat Sharma, chairman and editor-in-chief of the news channel India TV, has once again on the target of social media users with one of his tweets, people are trolling him. In fact, Rajat Sharma claimed in one of his tweets that Ramdev’s coronil has been approved by the WHO. After which the shy became the target of social media users. Rajat Sharma’s tweets have given many responses including Congress leaders.

Indeed, India TV founder Rajat Sharma wrote in his tweet on Saturday, “The second wave of Corona, the WHO received Ramdev’s coronil.” Even though Sharma claimed in his tweet that WHO had cleared Ramdev’s coronil, his report did not present any evidence to substantiate his claims.

Rajat Sharma said in his report- “Corona vaccine has been developed but no corona medicine has been developed yet. In this direction, Swami Ramdev made a big announcement on Friday. He formally launched Coronil, the Ayurvedic medicine of Corona. This drug of Patanjali Research Institute has got a certificate from the Ministry of AYUSH as per WHO norms. It can be used as an adjunct drug’ in case of Covid-19 infection and as an immunity enhancer. The drug was launched by the Patanjali Research Institute in June last year. A statement from Patanjali said, ‘Coronil has received a Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (CoPP) from the AYUSH section of the Central Pharmaceutical Standards Control Organization under the WHO certification scheme.

He further stated in his report, “Coronil can now be exported to 158 countries under the CoPP certification. The WHO may examine the company engaged in the manufacture of the drug at an appropriate interval’. “
