The wedding of Bhagwant Mann will be held in a very low profile at his Chandigarh residence on Thursday (July 7), for which preparations are going on. Let us tell you that Bhagwant Mann got divorced six years ago and his first wife and children live in America. Both the children of Bhagwant Mann had come to the swearing-in ceremony. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Bhagwant Mann’s wife Inderpreet Kaur also campaigned with him.
Harpal Kaur, mother of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, wanted him to get married. Bhagwant Mann will be married to Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, who has been chosen by the Chief Minister’s mother and sister herself.
Bhagwant Mann’s wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur is a doctor by profession and her age is 32 years. She came in contact with Bhagwant Mann’s family a year and a half ago. His family is originally from Haryana but has now settled in Rajpura, Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann to get married in a private ceremony
The marriage of Bhagwant Mann will take place in a small private ceremony in his house and only family members will attend the ceremony. Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will attend the wedding ceremony and will bless the bride and groom.
Bhagwant Mann started his career as a comedian
Describing the reason for divorcing his first wife, Bhagwant Mann had said that he is unable to give time to the family due to politics. So he distanced himself from his wife. Not only this, after the divorce, Bhagwant Mann also wrote a post on social media. In this he had said that he chose Punjab over his family. He is separating from his wife to give full time to politics.
Bhagwant Mann became MP from Sangrur for the first time in the year 2014 and then his wife Inderpreet Kaur also campaigned with him. In the 2019 elections also, Bhagwant Mann won from Sangrur and reached the Lok Sabha for the second time in a row. In the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party made him its CM candidate and under his leadership the party got a thumping majority. After this Bhagwant Mann took oath as the CM of Punjab on 16 March 2022.
