PM Modi’s Twitter account hacked: The government has not yet recognized bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency in India, but in the meantime hackers hacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account (@narendramodi) and tweeted about bitcoin, which caused a stir on social media. However, now the PMO has informed that his Twitter handle has been recovered again.
Late Sunday at around 2.11 am, PM Modi’s Twitter handle was hacked and a tweet claimed, “India has officially adopted bitcoin as legal tender. The government has officially bought 500 BTC and is distributing them to all residents of the country.”
Although this tweet was deleted after two minutes, but then another tweet was made at 2:14 am, which was exactly like the first tweet. After some time that tweet was also deleted, but by then the screenshot went viral on social media.
People are surprised by sharing the screenshot of that tweet on social media. Many people raised the question that when the Prime Minister’s Twitter handle can be hacked, then it is a serious security threat.
Regarding the hacking of the official Twitter account of the Prime Minister, the PMO tweeted, “The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured. In the brief period that the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored.”
On social media, people started expressing their opinion about it and started calling it the handiwork of bitcoin mafia. Let us tell you that earlier the Twitter handle of PM Modi’s personal website was also hacked. At that time, donations to the Corona Relief Fund were asked to be given through bitcoin.
