Petrol-diesel prices across the country are skyrocketing. Petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter in many states. Memes are being created on social media on rising petrol prices and the government is being criticized. Now ‘Rang De Basanti’ fame actor Siddharth has mocked the Finance Minister in a tweet.
Siddharth is well known on Twitter for his outspoken statements and openly expresses his opinion. Actually famous lawyer Prashat Bhushan has shared a video comparing two statements of Nirmala Sitharaman. In 2013, when the Congress was in government, Nirmala Sitharaman held the government responsible for the increase in petrol prices. But now when she is in power, she says that the reason for the rise in oil prices is the oil companies. Siddharth responded to this tweet by Prashant Bhushan.
Siddharth writes that “Maami is next level flexible in her belief system. No onions, no memory, no principles. Maami rocks!”
What did nirmala sitharaman say
Nirmala Sitharaman said that ‘this is an issue in which no answer other than price cut will satisfy the public. So whatever I say to bring the reality to the fore, people will say that I am avoiding answering. So I said that this is a serious issue. The government has no control over the price of petrol, oil companies import, refine and distribute crude oil. Therefore, it is a big dilemma.
