Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice-Chancellor Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit said on Tuesday that feminism is not a western concept but is embedded in Indian civilization. She also said that there can be no greater feminist than Draupadi and Sita.
Pandit was addressing a function in which she was honored with Smt. Sushma Swaraj Stree Shakti Samman-2022. She asked students interested in the intellectual discourse of modern India to study Indian feminists at the ceremony.
There can be no greater feminist than Draupadi or Sita.
“Feminism is not a western concept but is embedded in Indian civilization. There can be no great feminist than Draupadi or Sita. I urge many students who are interested in the intellectual discourse of modern India to study these characters,” the JNU Vice-Chancellor said.
