Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s alleged fake degree case has come up with a new twist. The magistrate hearing this case has written a letter to the district judge, demanding to be separated from the hearing. She has said in the letter sent to the District Judge that since Keshav Prasad Maurya is a member of the Legislative Assembly, the trial of this case is outside his jurisdiction. She has demanded to transfer the matter to the MP-MLA Special Court for hearing. The court has fixed July 30 as the date of hearing in this case.

An application was filed against Keshav Prasad Maurya in the court and a demand was made to register an FIR. The application was presented in the local magistrate’s court, on which the court had summoned a report from the police station concerned.
It is noteworthy that RTI activist Diwakar Nath Tripathi had given an application in the court to pass an order to register an FIR against Keshav Prasad Maurya. Hearing on this was held in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate on Tuesday. After this, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Namrata Singh wrote a letter to the District Judge that Keshav Prasad Maurya, against whom the application has been made, is a member of the Legislative Assembly.
