News Broadcasting and Digital Standards Authority(NBDSA) has reprimanded News Nation for serving Islamophobia in the name of news and has asked the channel to take down the video titled ‘Conversion Jihad’.
NBDSA said, “There was a need for introspection on part of broadcaster & it should take remedial actions against anchors who fail to remain neutral & impartial during broadcasts.” This decision has been given on a complaint made by ‘Citizens for Justice and Peace’.

Apart from taking action, NBDSA also said, “NBDSA also observed that training must be given to the anchors regarding the manner in which they conduct the programs.”
However, the broadcaster has tendered an unconditional apology. The NBDS has warned News Nation to be careful in future and has asked the website, YouTube and all other platforms to remove the link of the show. Also said that this should be confirmed in writing to the NBDSA within seven days.
The NBDSA further stated that the statement made by the anchor (Deepak Chaurasia) on the show and the caption “Memchand Zinda Hai Jamaat Sharminda Hai”; “500 Hindu Kaise Bane Muslim(How did a 500 Hindu become a Muslim)?” and “Kya Mewat Pakistan Ban Gaya Hai(Did Mewat become Pakistan)?” This is in violation of the principles and guidelines of the Reporting Rules.
The complaint, made by the NGO Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP), states that News Nation anchor Deepak Chaurasia called Maulana Syed-ul-Qadri on his show and forced him to apologize on behalf of the entire Muslim community and his on -Air insulted and called him a factory of lies.
Let us inform that earlier Zee News was also asked by NBDSA to remove two videos related to the farmers’ movement.
