Nawabganj SDO Ravindra Prakash Gautam: Everyone is shocked by the exploits of Ravindra Prakash Gautam, who was working as Nawabganj Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) in the electricity department of Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The suspended SDO not only put a picture of Osama bin Laden, the terrorist organization leader Osama bin Laden in his office going against departmental rules, but also called him the best junior engineer in the world. He was suspended from the post of Nawabganj sub-divisional officer as soon as the SDO’s act went viral on social media.
In this regard, senior officials of Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL) have told that Nawabganj Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Ravindra Prakash Gautam had put bin Laden’s picture in his office. At the bottom of the picture read, “Reverend Osama bin Laden, the world’s best junior engineer. After the picture and the message written on it went viral on social media, senior officials took cognizance of the incident and ordered the suspension of the SDO.
Apart from this, the picture of terrorist Osama Bill Laden was also removed from the SDO office. District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh said that the matter has been taken seriously. He said that Nawabganj SDO Ravindra Prakash Gautam has been suspended after Amit Kishor, the Managing Director of Dakshinchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited of the Electricity Department, found him guilty. Amit Kishor said that severe disciplinary action has been recommended against the sub-divisional officer Ravindra Kumar Gautam. During the suspension period, he will be admissible subsistence allowance as per rules. That office will be attached to Electricity Distribution Board, Kannauj.
Suspended SDO Ravindra Prakash Gautam justified his decision to put a picture of bin Laden in the office and said, “Anyone can consider anyone as his role model. Osama was the best junior engineer in the world. The picture has been removed from the office but I have several copies of it.”
The Nawabganj subdivision officer had put a photo of terrorist Osama bin Laden in the waiting room of his office 10 days ago. Apart from the clerk, the operator, 2 junior engineers and more than 1 dozen linemen have to come and go every day in the office. Despite this, no one informed the senior officials about it. In this regard, Chief Engineer Rakesh Verma said that a committee has been constituted to investigate the entire matter. A detailed report has been sought on all aspects. If other employees are also found guilty then action will be taken against them also.
