On the day of Mahatma Gandhi’s martyrdom, actor Siddharth attacked Nathuram Godse. Siddharth tweeted that Nathuram Godse was a coward, a terrorist, a murderer and a useless RSS man.
Siddharth said that we Indians should be extremely ashamed of Nathuram’s memory and even his name. The tweet ends with the words ‘Gandhiji Amar Rahe’.
Many people came out in support of Siddharth’s post. More than a thousand people have retweeted the tweet.
At the same time, Hindutva activists came out saying that Nathuram was a patriot and that anyone who killed one person could not be called a terrorist. Many responded that Nathuram was an RSS extremist who had killed the spirit of the country.
Siddharth had earlier taken a stern stance against Nathuram Godse and the Sangh Parivar who had assassinated Gandhiji. Siddharth had come out with a strong response when BJP leaders came out with criticism against the tractor rally held by the farmers on the last Republic Day.
He asked what was the contradiction between the advocates of the crime of demolition of Babri Masjid talking about peaceful protest.
