“Narendra Modi is the father of new India”: Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis

Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, has called Prime Minister Narendra Modi the father of the new India. Not only this, Amruta Fadnavis said that India has two fathers of the nation.

Amruta Fadnavis said, ‘I believe that Mahatma Gandhi is the father of the nation of India, while Narendra Modi is the father of the nation of new India. India has two fathers of the nation. One was from that era, one is from this era.’

Earlier, Amruta Fadnavis had tweeted something similar on PM Modi’s birthday. She wrote on September 17, ‘Today the father of the nation of modern India, Hon. On Narendra Modi GK Birthday, let us take a pledge to work in line with his vision, mission and dream that he has seen for New India! Let us all together make our country clean, green, corruption free, center of innovations and economic activities.’

Amruta Fadnavis is known for her controversial statements. A few days ago, she also defended the Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari when a controversy had arisen over the Governor’s remarks on Chhatrapati Shivaji. Then Amruta, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, came out in his support. She had said that she believes that the governor is a Marathi man at heart. After coming to Maharashtra, he has learned Marathi.

In defense of Governor Koshyari, Amrita Fadnavis had said – I know the Governor personally. He really loves Marathi. I have experienced this myself, but it has happened many times that he has said something and meant something else, but he is a Marathi man at heart.
