Locals race to collect petrol after a Tanker overturns: A speeding tanker rammed into the car from behind on Thursday morning near Bhujangi Chowk of Maniyari police station in Muzaffarpur district. Two people in the car died in this tragic accident. The other two were injured. After hitting the tanker, the tanker overturned in the pit below the highway. Oil started leaking from the tanker. There was a race to rob petrol from the tanker from Gir. Local people started filling petrol in boxes and buckets.

On getting information about the accident, Maniyari police reached the spot. The people who were looting petrol were chased away. At the same time, the bodies of the dead were taken and sent for post-mortem. The deceased have been identified as Sandeep Kumar (25), son of Ajay Jha of Balra Kishun of Maniyari police station and Sunny (25), son of Ranjit Jha of Kudhni Paraiya.

Ajay Jha, the father of the deceased, told that on Wednesday, Sandeep, Sunny and two of his friends had gone to their maternal grandmother in Dubha, Sakra by car. They were returning home from there on Thursday morning. During this the accident happened. Sandeep and Sunny used to do private jobs while staying in Mumbai. Came home only a month ago. After a few days, he was going to go to Mumbai again. But, the news of his death was received.

Local people say that this accident must have happened due to overtaking. The tanker moves at great speed on the highway. The tanker must have come out after overtaking another vehicle and overturned after hitting the car. The car was also blown up. The tanker driver and the cleaner fled the spot after the incident.
