Munawar Faruqui is the 2nd contestant of ‘Lock Upp’: After announcing the name of Nisha Rawal, the first contestant from ALTBalaji and MX Player’s much-awaited reality show Lock Upp, the makers have now revealed the identity of the second contestant of the show hosted by Kangana Ranaut.
While the name of the other contestant was doing the rounds and speculations were rife, especially after the makers recently launched a video featuring a stand-up comedian, it certainly created a huge buzz among the audience that who would this person be? But now, the wait is over and it has been confirmed that stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui will be the second contestant of ‘Lock Upp’.
Munawar Faruqui who is a popular name in the world of stand-up comedy and was arrested by the Indore Police last year for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and was in jail for almost a month. He is also a writer and rapper.
Talking about his association with ‘Lock Upp’, Munawar says, “Talking about his association with ‘Lock Up’, Munawwar says, ‘Lock Upp’ is going to be a one-of-a-kind show as I believe it has the potential to change the dynamics of the content viewing experience in the Indian OTT industry. Though it will be a tough and challenging journey for me, but I am glad that this show will also give me a chance to be who I am in the real setup. I am delighted to be associated with MX Player and ALTBalaji to offer such a unique reality show.”
Munawar is often found taking sly at Kangana on her controversial statements. Last year in February, His first tweet, after he was released from judicial custody, Munawar had tweeted, “Kangana ke tweets padke lag raha hai Fir se Judicial custody chala jaun (After reading Kangana’s tweets, I feel like going to judicial custody once again)!”
On August 23, Munawar Faruqui took another sly dig at the actress and wrote, “I think Right wing goons got angry because Taslim Ali was selling KANGANA at 2 rupees”.
‘Lock Upp’ has been a topic of discussion ever since its launch due to its unique and never heard of format. Content queen Ekta Kapoor is all set to bring to the Indian audience this fearless reality show, which will stream for free on Alt Balaji and MX Player from February 27. Kangana Ranaut will host this show. In this, 16 controversial celebrities will be jailed for months without the facilities that we usually take ‘for granted’.
