Three men in jail since their arrest last month are accused of setting a motorcycle on fire at Sendhwa in Barwani district on Ram Navami, that is, April 10. The surprising thing is that a case has been registered against them in the same police station where they have been booked for attempt to murder.

At the same time, when the police officers were asked about this lapse, they said that this case has been registered on the basis of the statement of the complainant. Senior police officer Manohar Singh said, ‘We will investigate the matter and take information from the jail superintendent, at present a case has been registered based on the allegations of the complainant.’

The accused’s mother said – no one listened to us
The trio have been identified as Shahbaz, Fakru and Rauf. The three were booked for attempt to murder on March 5 last month and have been in jail since then. Shahbaz’s mother Sakina has alleged that after the communal clash, her house was vandalized and she was not given any notice.

Sakina said, “Police came here and threw us out of the house. My son is in jail for almost one and a half months. He was arrested after a fight so I want to ask why FIR was registered against him? We even told the policemen that he is in jail but no one is ready to listen to us. We pleaded with folded hands. They have also taken my younger son.”

Let us tell you that on the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the district administration and the police have demolished the illegal construction of people involved in the attack on Ram Navami procession on Sunday. Officials used bulldozers on about 45 houses and shops. Violence erupted in Khargone and Barwani after allegedly stones were pelted on Ram Navami processions. According to officials, at least 24 people, including six policemen, were injured in the violence.
