Reactions are coming from all over the world on the voilence that took place during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Jahangirpuri area of the country’s capital Delhi on Saturday. America’s legendary tennis player Martina Navratilova has also reacted to this violence.
Martina Navratilova, who won 18 Grand Slam singles, has tweeted on the Jahangirpuri violence and asked the question directly to PM Modi.
Martina retweeted journalist Rana Ayyub’s tweet, writing, “Surely this is not acceptable, right Modi?” This tweet of Martina is now becoming very viral on social media, on which users are also giving their reactions fiercely.
Let us inform that, Rana Ayyub had tweeted a video, in which some youths can be seen waving weapons during the Hanuman Jayanti procession.
Violence erupted in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Saturday during a procession taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. In this violence 9 people including 8 policemen and 1 civilian were injured.
Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana, while talking to the media on Monday, said, “The people who were present at the back of the procession had a confrontation with the people standing there and stone pelting started, 9 people were injured, including 8 police officers. So far 23 people have been arrested in the case. The video footage of social media is being investigated.”
Rakesh Asthana further said that, “Some people are trying to disturb peace through social media. We are keeping a close watch on social media and legal action will be taken against those spreading misinformation. Don’t pay attention to rumours. Efforts are being made to maintain peace in the sensitive areas in collaboration with the Aman Committee. Action will be taken against people of any class, creed, community and religion if found guilty.”
