Khargone Communal Violence: Communal violence erupts over Ram Navami procession in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. Section 144 has been imposed in the city following clashes between two communities. Several policemen including Khargone SP are also reported injured.

According to NDTV, the controversy started over playing DJ. It is being told that when the procession of Ram Navami was going through the pre-determined Talab Chowk. But the procession took a new route instead of the fixed route and stopped in front of a mosque, people started dancing to the tune of DJ.

When the DJ stood outside the mosque for a long time, the people of the Muslim community raised objections. It is being told that citing the time of prayer, the muslim community asked them to carry forward the Shobha Yatra. During this, there was an altercation between the two sides and stone pelting started. The word spread like a fire in the whole city and the fight and stone pelting started at various places. During this several vehicles were torched. It is being told that many people have been injured.

According to The Indian Express, BJP leader Kapil Mishra, who was targeted by the opposition over the Delhi riots, was also involved in the Ram Navami procession. Kapil Mishra had also made inflammatory tweets before the start of the Shobha Yatra. He put his pictures and wrote, “No Musa No Burhan, Only Jai Jai Shri Ram”. However, Kapil Mishra has deleted this tweet.

Let us tell you that curfew has been imposed in three areas of the city after violence erupted on Ram Navami procession in Khargone city on Sunday. There were incidents of stone pelting and arson by miscreants during the procession, in which some vehicles were torched. After this incident, the administration has imposed curfew in three areas of the city, while Section 144 has been imposed in the entire city. Police also used tear gas shells to control the situation.
