It is learned that Kannada actor Chetan Kumar Ahimsa has filed a defamation suit against Karnataka BJP Labor Minister Shivaram Hebbar seeking Rs 1 crore as damages. He has filed a defamation suit against the minister for his derogatory post against him on social media.
The case was taken up by the Bangalore City Civil Court on June 24 and a notice was issued to Minister Shivaram Hebbar. The next hearing is set for July 14 and adjourned.
It is said that the Shivaram Hebbar, who is a Member of Legislative Assembly and Minister for Labour in the Government of Karnataka, tweeted on 11.6.2021 by criticizing and condemning the statements made by the actor against the caste system criticising braminism.
The plea says the actor is not only a cinema personality and he is committed to the social works and he dreams to create a society without disparity. The minister by making the aforesaid statement has portrayed the Plaintiff in a false light and deprived him of his reputation.
The minister who denounced Chetan, said that in the constitution, every religion and caste is entitled This man’s statement is contrary to the constitution and insults the architect Ambedkar. I would like to acknowledge that in the society, I have appealed to the honorable chief ministers, Mr. BS Yeddyurappa, to arrest such social activists in the legal framework and take stern action. ”
Recently the actor has made many tweets against Brahminism and Brahmin supremacy. This has caused a lot of pain to the Brahmin community. Brahmin Development Board Chairman Sachidananda has lodged a complaint against Chetan at Ulsoor police station demanding an apology from the actor to Brahmin community. A similar complaint was lodged at the Basavanagudi police station by Pawan Kumar, the president of the VIP Youth Forum.
