A video of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah is currently going viral on social media, which has been shared by the BCCI itself on its official Twitter handle. Jai Shah, son of the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah, has come under the target of social media users regarding this video, people are giving their reactions with a lot of fun.
Actually, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup on Wednesday. Former India captain MS Dhoni will also join the national team as a mentor for the T20 World Cup to be held in UAE and Oman in October-November. BCCI secretary Jay Shah, during the announcement of the Indian team, said that Dhoni will work closely with the Indian team’s head coach Ravi Shastri during the tournament. Now on social media, Jay Shah is being trolled fiercely for the way he announced Dhoni’s joining the team.
In the video shared by BCCI on its official Twitter handle, Jay Shah is giving information about Dhoni along with the announcement of the team. Jay Shah is telling in English that, “Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be joining Team India as a consultant for the upcoming T20 World Cup. I am glad that MS has accepted BCCI’s offer and is keen to contribute to the national team once again. MS will work closely with Ravi Shastri. Also will provide support and direction to Team India.
However, it is seen in the video that Shah is seen speaking very carefully, stuck in each sentence. It can be clearly seen in the video that he is reading this message of less than half a minute in broken English. Seeing the video, it can be guessed that he is speaking after reading the information written in front. Due to this, Jay Shah has come under the target of social media users, people are trolling him fiercely.
Commenting on Jay Shah and the BJP, senior Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan wrote in his tweet, “What a cute and innocent boy! He is the boss of BCCI. His name is Jay Shah. Of course there is no dynasty in the BJP and no political interference in the BCCI.”
Congress spokesperson Dr. Ragini Nayak shared Shah’s video and wrote, “Here is Jay Shah, Secretary, BCCI, the world’s richest and most powerful cricket board. You tell me that if he was not Amit ‘Shah-Zade’, then he would not have been even appointed as ‘Chowkidar’ of BCCI.”
Vinay Kumar Dokania, national co-convener of the Congress’s social media cell, quipped, “Jai Shah should not be judged for his reading skills, but the record he has scored 5 trillion runs in international cricket. He should be judged by this.”
Youth Congress President Srinivas B. V quipped and wrote, ‘Looks like you forgot to read full stop at the end.’ Similarly, all social media users are also taking a jibe by sharing Shah’s video.
