IPL 2022 Qualifier 1, GT vs RR: David Miller’s blast, defeating Rajasthan, Gujarat straight into the final

IPL 2022 Qualifier 1, GT vs RR: Gujarat Titans (GT) have entered the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Gujarat won by 7 wickets against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first qualifier on Tuesday. Rajasthan had given a target of 189 runs, which Gujarat achieved with 3 balls to spare for the loss of 3 wickets.

Despite being a big target, RR knelt down in front of David Miller and Hardik Pandya. Both not only saved their team from getting into trouble but also came back winning. Both shared an unbroken partnership of 105 runs for the fourth wicket. Miller scored an unbeaten 68 off 38 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, captain Pandya played an unbeaten 40 runs in 27 balls with 5 fours.

The first qualifier of IPL 2022 was played between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Batting first in this match, Rajasthan set a target of 189 runs for the Gujarat Titans with help of Jos Buttler’s 89 runs, which Gujarat achieved by losing three wickets. With this win, Gujarat team has become the first team to reach the final of IPL 2022. Gujarat needed to score 16 runs in the final to win the match and Miller hit a six in the first three balls to take Gujarat to the final.

However, after losing, Rajasthan still have one more chance to reach the final. Rajasthan will now have to take on the winner of the Eliminator on Wednesday between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 to reach the final. The losing team between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eliminated from the tournament. Qualifier 2 will now be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 27 and the winner of this match will face Gujarat Titans in the final on May 29.
