Virat Kohli in a press conference refuted claims by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly that he was consulted before the change in captaincy decision was made by the board. He even denied being requested to continue as T20I captain. To this, Ganguly said, “I have got nothing to say. We will deal with it, leave it to the BCCI.”
Following this, Indian Cricket fans showered support for Virat Kohli on Twitter with numerous tweets. Fans started trending his name on social media. The hashtag- #WorldStandsWithKohli (World Stands With Kohli)was included in the top trend on Friday. Several thousand tweets were made on this. Actually, a day before this, Sourav Ganguly’s fans came out in his support, and a hashtag supporting Ganguly also trended on Twitter.
After Virat was removed from the captaincy, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah are facing backlash from Indian cricket fans on Twitter for their absurd decision on sacking Kohli. His numbers are among the best among all the captains who have led India.
