Indian-born Laxman Narasimhan to be the new CEO of Starbucks, will take over the charge next year

World’s leading coffee company Starbucks has named Indian-origin Laxman Narasimhan as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Narasimhan, 55, will be relocating from London to the US. He will assume the position of CEO on April 1, 2023. Starbucks announced Thursday that Narasimhan will become the company’s next chief executive officer and a member of Starbucks’ board of directors.

Narasimhan will become the future CEO on October 1, 2022, after relocating from London to Seattle, USA. He will take over as CEO next year. Until then, he will work closely with interim CEO Howard Schultz.

Prior to this, Narasimhan has worked with Reckitt, Lysol and baby formula maker Enfamil. He announced on Thursday that he would step down as the chief executive of Britain’s Reckitt Benckiser Group. After leaving Reckitt, the company’s share price saw a decline of four per cent.

Starbucks Chairman Melody Hobson said the company believes we have an extraordinary person in our next CEO. Laxman Narasimhan has earned a lot of fame by doing many important works in the business world.
