Big news is coming from Aaj Tak group. Rajdeep Sardesai, a senior journalist working on the group’s English channel India Today, has been taken off air for two weeks by the management. Apart from this, the channel has also deducted one month’s salary.
It has been learned that this action has been taken on some of his posts on social media, due to which the people of high positions in the government have become angry.
The India Today management considered Rajdeep’s tweets to be outside the group’s social media policy. Rajdeep Sardesai has been accused of spreading misinformation.
This harsh action by India Today management has stirred the media persons of the group. The management has given a strong message to everyone on the pretext of this action that it will not be valid in any way to run against the policies of the group.
It is being told that one of Rajdeep’s tweets was related to the farmer killed on 26 January. This tweet is being described as misleading.
Let us know that in October 2020, India Today had issued an interim social media advisory for its employees on what to write on social media, what to share and what not.
It was clearly stated in this advisory that disciplinary action will be taken on the violation of these rules, which can be till the dismissal. However the advisory issued by the company HR was said to be effective for two months.
