A video of Virender Sehwag doing commentary during the third day of the rescheduled fifth Test between India and England went viral. After this, former India opener had to face the ire of social media users. In the video, the Indian team took a wicket during England’s first innings.
After this Virat Kohli started swinging in happiness. Sehwag made objectionable remarks about Kohli doing the same dance. After India scored 416 runs in the first innings, England’s first innings was bundled out for 284 runs on the third day of the match. The video also featured Mohammad Kaif on-air with Sehwag. He saw Kohli dance during replays.
After this, Kaif told Sehwag, you see Virat Kohli’s dance. To this Sehwag said, ‘Chhamiya is dancing there, hahaha…’ The video soon went viral on Twitter. Twitter users slammed Sehwag for his objectionable remarks. They demanded the removal of Sehwag from the commentary. Many users also demanded a ban on Sehwag, popularly known as ‘Sultan of Multan’, from commenting on cricket.
@MahiRatIsGOAT tweeted and said, “@virendersehwag should be banned. First called Rohit Vadapav, then posted a had ads apology and now this. Commentators can’t get away with this shit. The country is listening. There need to be consequences.”
@sikeitzvxnsh wrote, “Someone sack Sehwag from commentary. Guy said “chamiyan naach rhi hai” after watching Kohli dance after Broad’s wicket”
@Vicharofsandeep wrote, “Did I just heard it right ?? @virendersehwag saying to Virat Kohli – “छमिया नांच रही हैं” …. A commentator saying this to the modern day legend of Indian team ,This is not acceptable @BCCI …This is very poor kind of thing sehwag has done.”
Take a look at the reactions:
Virender Sehwag had earlier made a tweet about Virat Kohli with reference to Jonny Bairstow during the third day’s match. In this tweet, he had tweeted, “Jonny Bairstow’s strike rate was 21 before Kohli sledging and 150 after sledging. Playing like Pujara, Kohli got Pant made by sledging.”
