“Increasing fuel prices is a tragedy for honest people”: BJP MP Subramanian Swamy launches fresh attack on Modi govt

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has targeted his own government over the ever-increasing prices of petrol-diesel and other fuels in the country. Swamy has called it a tragedy for the honest people of India, while on the other hand it has also been called bad for the development of the country’s economy.

Subramanian Swamy wrote in his tweet on Tuesday, “Raising petrol, diesel and other fuel prices is a tragedy for honest people of India. It will weaken demand forces and make economic recovery even more difficult.”

Let us tell you that BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has been constantly critical of the Modi government regarding economic policies. Despite being the government of his party, he has been speaking and writing on it continuously. He has repeatedly said from different forums that the economic policies that the current government is taking in the country can lead to the situation getting worse instead of better.

Significantly, the burden of inflation has increased on the common man, who is facing the ever-increasing inflation in the country. Amidst the skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel, the oil marketing companies have once again given a big blow to the common man, on Wednesday, the prices of LPG cylinders have been increased drastically. Oil companies have increased the price of non-subsidized 14.2 kg cylinder by Rs 15.

After this increase, the price of LPG cylinder in the national capital Delhi has increased from Rs 884.50 to Rs 899.50 per cylinder. The price of LPG cylinder in Kolkata increased from Rs 911 to Rs 926, in Mumbai from Rs 844.50 to Rs 899.50. The price of non-subsidized cylinder in Chennai is now Rs 915.50. Earlier the price was Rs 900.50 per cylinder.
