In the women’s singles final at the US Open 2022, Iga Swiatek defeated Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur to win the title. She became the champion of US Open for the first time. This is the third Grand Slam of his career. Prior to this, she has won the French Open title twice. She won the final match by a margin of 6-2,7-6. Iga played like a champion in this match from the beginning and took the lead by winning the first set easily. In the second set, Ons challenged her, but Swiatek did not give up and won a struggling set to win the title.

Swiatek has won 38 matches and seven tournaments this year. Swiatek is the second player, after Angelaki Kerber, to win two Grand Slam trophies in the same season.
Ons Jabeur and Iga Swiatek have been face-to-face five times so far. Of these, three times Swiatek and twice Ons have won. Inga defeated Jabeur in Washington DC in 2019. After this, Jabeur defeated in the pre-quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2021 and the Cincinnati Open. Swiatek then defeated Ons again this year in the final of the US Open in Rome.
